A Year of Health and Wealth for All

Happy New Year

2015.  I had to write a few checks and I had to pinch myself a few times to say to myself it is 2015 not 2014.  I know that as I get older each year seems shorter because there are more years to weigh it against, but this past year seemed to fly by pretty fast, especially the holiday season.

Today is Sunday morning and I am pretty relaxed, having taken pretty much a vacation with a few work days sprinkled in.  For fun, I looked at what I blogged about for the first time last year and it was about my New Year’s resolutions.  So today I get to reflect on them and share what my plans are for next year

I had two basic resolutions, the first being progress, not perfection and the second was about being positive.  And believe it or not, they are still my resolutions for this coming year.  Let me explain a little here.

2014 was a year of a lot of change for me.  For whatever reason the changes are happening for they were meant to be and I have finally figured out that my life will continue to change.  No matter what there will issues coming up.  It reminds me of the quote of Lao Tzu  “Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes,  Don’t resist them- that only creates sorrow.  Let reality be reality.  Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like”

So as they say ‘Life happens”.  I get in trouble when I want to control life.  This is the perfectionist in me who can make my life difficult because I can’t control life, I can only control myself.  So the way I see it, if I constantly am seeing progress in how I handle what happens in life then I am doing ok

Now the part about being positive.  I have to admit I totally forgot about this one as a new year’s resolution, but in early November I went on a retreat where I realized I should start looking at my glass half full and it has made a big difference in my life.  I find myself smiling more, I find myself looking at the good and not the bad.  I find myself trying not to live in judgment all the time. And most importantly, being an optimist allows me to try and not be in so much control. So without a question this is something I have to continue doing.

A little bit of end of the years thanks. To the entire team at Southern California Dental Health Associate, who continue to try and improve the care of all of our patients.  To Dr. Goldman and Dr. Dana, for continuing to be great parts of our team and their collaborations allow us to be one the most advanced dental offices in the Beverly Hills/Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles. To Marla Dennis for helping me to see that my cup is not half full but is overflowing.  To my family because your unconditional love for me provides me strength every day.  And last but not least, to my higher power because with one would any of this even exist.

To all of you my wish is that this coming year finds that you get all you want and wish for.  A year of health and wealth for all.
