He is the most interesting man in the world

I know, the commercials claim that the most interesting man in the world doesn’t always drink beer….but when he does he prefers XXXXXXXXXX.

Let me tell you about who I think is one of the most interesting and forward thinking person that I have ever met. I first meet Bill about 7-8 years ago when I attended a course at his Inland Empire Dental study group. How I got on the mailing list I don’t know but there I was at his dental office in Upland, CA. Bill’s office was a stand-alone building on the corner of a busy street. The office was two stories, with the top story set up primarily to allow Bill to have classes and study groups along with keeping track of all the research projects he was doing.

Over the years I have been to Bill’s office several times. Bill has always been about sharing and in my opinion is probably the most giving person I have ever met in the dental field. At any course there were always samples, and as technology went so did Bill, you would actually get CD’s of the seminar so that you could watch them over and over. In my book his courses were always the best value for the money. But get this, one seminar Bill felt like he had actually overcharged once all the numbers were in. He actually offered to refund the money in different ways. Where do you find people like this today….I would venture to say nowhere. (and of course one of Bill’s options was to give the money to charity which was what I did).

Bill is one of the founding members of AAOSH (American Academy for Oral Systemic Health) a group that is dedicated to trying and close the gap between dentists and doctors in understanding the importance of oral health and how it relates to the entire health of an individual. I am proud to be a member of AAOSH and look forward to being at their next annual meeting in Las Vegas next year. Even better is that the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry ( of which Bill is also a mover and shaker in) will be running their meeting a few days earlier in Las Vegas so I can have my mind expanded for 5 days straight.

Just the past few days I attended his Ozone Pathfinders lecture along with several members of our team with the goal of learning more and implementing Ozone therapy in our dental office. Why…because our team is always looking for better ways to improve the health of our patients and frankly, I don’t know if there is anyone in dentistry who is more committed, or more knowledgeable about it than Bill. And I know that my team felt that same way about Bill after the seminar. And by the way, dentists from Australia, Portugal and Romania were also in attendance and they all felt the same way about the knowledge that Bill has.

Bill doesn’t only work within the confines of the good ole United States; he is very active helping educate dentists all over the world. He has been helping the dental schools in Ecuador and Brazil in learning about ozone and has been setting up research projects all over for them.

Bill has always been accessible to me whenever I have had questions and I left him this weekend feeling that I truly have a dental mentor, someone who understands what it is I want to accomplish in dentistry. I know he will have my back and I am truly grateful that I have the mentor that I have in Bill Domb.

So for those of you who have not met Bill, or had a chance to learn with him you won’t get why I say that to me Bill Domb is the most interesting man in the world.
